Hamilton police say they've charged a 26-year-old man with first-degree murder after he allegedly broke into his next-door neighbour's home and shot him.
Det. Sgt. Dave Oleniuk says the incident happened early Tuesday morning, several hours after someone in the alleged victim's home called police about an argument with the accused.
He says a 28-year-old man died at the scene.
Oleniuk declined to say what the dispute between the neighbours was about.
He says they knew each other and had spoken in the past, but didn't necessarily know each other's names.
Oleniuk says Mark Duckett has appeared in court on the first-degree murder charge.
