A new study has found Hamilton is one of the best cities to be a woman in Canada.
The report by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives ranks Victoria, BC in first place and Windsor, Ontario in last place.
The study looks at gaps between men's and women's access to economic and personal security, education, health and positions of leadership in 25 of the country's largest metropolitan areas.
Victoria ranked highest on the list where more women then men are employed and women account for nearly half of all senior managers and elected officials.
Hamilton climbed from 13th to 3rd spot due to a narrowing employment gap, lower than average poverty and women's access to leadership positions.
Niagara did get a mention in the report, which also highlights the work that communities are doing to close the gender gap.
The report noting the upcoming YWCA sponsored Niagara Leadership Summit for Women at Brock University, October 28th.
