Despite the arrest of 12 people, ranging in age from 14 to 32, Hamilton police say there are still other suspects out there and that's why they are reminding residents to lock up their cars and houses.
Police say between May and August there were 66 break and enters all with similiar patterns.
In most cases, the suspects gained access to homes by using the garage door opener from the homeowner's unlocked vehicle.
Once inside houses, the thieves took any valuables in sight and then in some instances stole their car and committed fraud with the victim's bank card.
Police believe the suspects have targeted residences with Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus vehicles, as well as Dodge Ram and Ford F150 pickup trucks.
