A Hamilton police officer has pleaded guilty to discreditable conduct and neglect of duty for not answering a dispatch call last April.
The call was for a multiple homicide in Stoney Creek.
Despite being the closest officer on patrol to the crime scene, 32 year old Constable Kyle Anders drove in the opposite direction, as two oncoming cruisers with sirens blaring raced to the scene of a shooting where a man killed his girlfriend, brother and mother before turning the gun on himself.
After pleading guilty, Anders blamed family problems for his decision.
Anders received a two year demotion, and as a result will lost $38,000 in pay, but he gets to keep his job.
