A big finance story out of Hamilton, after the city's planning committee unanimously voted yesterday to cap the number of payday loan stores.
It comes amid accusations of "predatory" tactics being used by the stores who councillors say target low-income residents and slam them with high interest rates.
It's hoped limiting the number of payday loan stores will help families from falling further into debt.
The move, if approved by city council, will allow just one payday loan store for every ward, with existing stores "grandfathered in".
