Health Canada is advising people in Ontario and Quebec to avoid eating romaine lettuce and salad mixes containing romaine lettuce until more is known about an E. coli outbreak.
That outbreak has sickened 18 people already including three people in Ontario.
The people range in age from 5 to 93 and they reported eating romaine lettuce at home, as well as in prepared salads purchased at grocery stores, or from menu items ordered at restaurants and fast food chains.
As of right now health officials don't know the source of the contamination but the investigation continues.
