Concerned health advocates are gearing up for three days of town hall meetings in Niagara to discuss the Ford government's new 'Super Agency.'
Two weeks ago, the Ford government introduced legislation to create a new agency, dubbed Ontario Health, consolidating several agencies including the local health integration networks, Cancer Care Ontario, and eHealth Ontario.
Tory representatives say the move will eliminate the duplication of some services, while opponents worry this is another step toward privatization.
Representatives from The Ontario Health Coalition and Niagara Health Coalition want to hear from the public, saying the restructuring plans will have 'a profound impact on Niagara.'
The first meeting is tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Catharines Aquatic Centre.
A second meeting will be held tomorrow night at Welland City Hall at 7 p.m.
And finally, the third meeting will be on Thursday at Grimsby City Hall at 7 p.m.
