A heartbreaking story of an elderly couple has caught the attention of a Niagara politician.
93 year old Clarence and his 92 year old wife Jessie have been married for 70 years and both needed long-term care this past summer.
Clarence is a resident at Shalom Manor in Grimsby, Jessie has been placed at a home in St. Catharines.
Their daughter, Helen Potsma is speaking out saying that they miss each other terribly and and they should be placed together.
Potsma has caught the attention of Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates.
Gates brought up the story at Queen's Park saying under the completely inadequate Couple Reunification Program, chances are they will never live together again.
He's asking what the Premier will do to help reunite the Niagara couple.
