If you are looking to beat the heat at the beach today, ten beaches in Niagara have been posted as unsafe for swimming.
Those beaches include Lakeside and Sunset Beaches in St.Catharines as well as Nickel Beach in Port Colborne.
Niagara Public Health says swimming in water which has high bacteria levels could cause infections of the ear, eye, nose, throat and skin as well as cause diarrhea if the water is ingested.
You can see a list of the beaches tested by public health here.
A number of communities have opened up cooling centres, and extended their pool and splash pad hours.
