The Niagara Parks Commission and a Niagara regional councillor going head to head last night over the development of the Miller's Creek Marina in Fort Erie.
During a presentation by NPC Chair Janice Thomson, updating council on commission operations, Councillor Bob Gale voiced his frustration the NPC has yet to approve a proposal by developer Warren DAC to spend $150 million to revamp the aging marina.
Thomson calmly explaining, the NPC, as a body of the province, has a strict procurement process they must follow.
Fort Erie Mayor Wayne Redekop, intervened, saying while there have been problems with the process, the NPC is doing what it can to address those issues.
Council then voting to throw its support behind the park commission and the town moving forward.
