The recent bad weather has resulted in a delay for the City of Welland opening its municipal pools.
City staff say due to heavy rainfall this spring the city’s outdoor swimming pools have an extended opening date.
Officials say extraordinarily heavy rainfall has delayed pre-season maintenance significantly.
All three public pools are now slated to open June 24th.
The following schedule begins June 24, 2017 for the Rosie Smith Pool, Memorial Park Pool, and Maple Park Pool.
Weekdays: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Weekends: 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The following regular extended schedule begins on June 30, 2017 for the Rosie Smith Pool, Memorial Park Pool, and Maple Park Pool.
Weekdays: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Weekends: 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Residents can cool off at the Glenwood Park and Chippawa Park public splash pads are presently open from dusk till dawn.
The Memorial Park splash pad is scheduled for opening on Wednesday, June 14.
