Malcolmson Eco-Park in St. Catharines will be temporarily closed this week as an exterminator uses a low-toxicity herbicide.
Although the city doesn't usually use herbicides in parks, an exterminator has been called in to apply a class four herbicide to the stumps of invasive species to promote growth of native plants.
The work will be done sometime this week when the weather conditions allow. City officials will post closure notices at park entrances and online.
