Everyone knows there's money to be made in television, but who knew there'd be a treasure inside an actual television.
Police in Barrie are commending employees at a recycling centre after more than $100,000 was found inside an old T-V that had been dropped off to be recycled more than a year ago.
Workers at Global Electric Electronic Processing only dismantled the set last month and were surprised to find a cash box and banking records inside dating back to 1985.
Police traced the records to a 68-year-old man in Bolsover, Ontario.
It turns out he'd inherited the money from his parents, socked it away for a rainy day and forgot about it.
He later gave the T-V, and its hidden fortune, to a friend, who later brought it in to be recycled.
