A local non-profit Indigenous organization is asking you to keep an eye out for a stolen trailer containing some precious cargo.
The trailer was stolen from the Metis Nation of Ontario office on Schmon Parkway in Thorold over the Easter weekend.
President of the Niagara Region Metis Council, Derrick Pont tells CKTB the contents of the trailer include a traditional educational encampment display which is used at public events.
He says the council has been working on creating the display over the last decade in hopes of educating people about the Metis culture.
He is asking residents to pay attention to ditches and parking lots for anything that looks out of place like tents, rugs, chairs and furs.
The trailer is black with silver trim and the licence plate number is R29 867.
Call police if you have any information.
