Ontario is offering up to 500-dollars to cover the costs of home energy audits -- the first step towards qualifying for renovation rebates of up to 21-hundred dollars.
Existing rebates for home energy retrofits through Union Gas and Enbridge Gas will now be available to about 37-thousand more families to buy new hot water heaters, furnaces, energy-efficient windows and insulation.
Rebates typically range between 500 to two-thousand dollars and the government says natural gas customers save $1.50 to four-dollars for every dollar invested.
The programs are available through Union Gas Limited and Enbridge Gas Distribution.
