It's a scene that will remind you of the movie Shawshank Redemption when a prisoner breaks out of jail by breaking through a wall.
A similar situation happened at St.Catharines' Homestead Donuts Deli & Cafe on Grantham Avenue this week.
Two suspects, a man and a woman, broke into the shop overnight on Tuesday by cutting a hole in the ceiling.
The two then smashed their way through the concrete wall with a sledgehammer into the variety store next door.
The process took two hours.
Darek Falkowski, Owner of the shop says the suspects missed the mark
The suspects fled the scene with three large bags of stolen goods when a delivery truck arrived at the donut shop.
Damage is estimated at 50-thousand dollars to Homestead.
The store remains closed, and will be for a few more days.
The St.Catharines Standard has posted a video of the break-in.
