The Grimsby Auxiliary Marine Rescue Unit South Shore Search And Rescue has received a large donation.
In a ceremony this morning, GAMRU recieved a $27,000 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada.
This grant money will go towars life-saving equipment such as new pumps, automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and other medical equipment, upgraded navigation systems, towing hardware and search lights for the volunteers’ two rescue vessels.
Last season, GAMRU South Shore Search And Rescue volunteers responded to 28 calls to aid boaters on Lake Ontario.
