Hugh Hefner, who published the first issue of Playboy in 1953, has died at age 91.
When Hefner began what he described as a men's lifestyle magazine, states were still allowed to ban contraceptives and the word ``pregnant'' was too risque for ``I Love Lucy.''
By the 1970s, the magazine had seven-million readers and had helped usher in the sexual revolution.
Playboy says Hefner died of natural causes surrounded by family at his home on Wednesday night.
