Ontario's human rights tribunal is considering whether to hear a complaint involving the Cleveland Indians baseball team.
The complaint seeks to bar the team from using their team name or wearing specific logos at major league baseball games played in Toronto.
It was filed during last year's playoffs by indigenous activist Douglas Cardinal, who alleged the team's name and logo amounted to racial discrimination.
Cardinal alleges the team name and its logo of a grinning cartoon man with red skin and a feather in his headband violates provincial and national human rights legislation.
