Tears were shed and candles were lit as hundreds of people gathered on the Burgoyne Bridge in St. Catharines for a vigil and protest.
Last night residents came out to remember two men who died on the bridge within a week of each other.
Some participants wore shirts emblazoned with 'Tanner Strong, this is not the end of your story' while others held signs decrying the need for more government funding for mental health.
In response to the recent suicides, signs with crisis line information have been posted near the bridge and community groups will meet with regional officials on Wednesday to discuss what more can be done.
If you, or someone you know is in crisis, call 911.
