"I was hoping this day would come."
That's the comment from Executive Director of the Lincoln County Humane Society in St.Catharies Kevin Strooband as he talks about a shortage of cats available for adoption.
Strooband says they will have only nine cats up for adoption on this National Adoption Weekend.
The cats will be at the Fonthill PetValu and the Lakeshore Road PetValu tomorrow and Sunday.
Strooband says over the past few winters there has been a shortage of cats, and they will be receiving some from Windsor soon.
He says the problem of cat overpopulation is not solved, saying the clinic will be full once spring arrives.
When it comes to dogs, Strooband says there are a number available to adoption.
