Ice is building up along the shores of the Niagara River after the Lake Erie ice boom broke during the wind storm.
Officials in Buffalo warn that several sections of the boom have been spotted floating in the river.
Niagara Parks Police closed the Niagara River Parkway near Mathers Arch while posting a video of the growing ice wall on social media.
The ice can be seen churning as the high winds continue to push chunks up over the retaining wall.
Many residents along the shoreline are also reporting widespread flooding.
