Mother nature is to blame for thousands of dollars in damage to Fort Erie's breakwall.
Niagara Parks Commission CEO David Adames says about 250 metres of the Niagara Parkway barrier has been busted up by mountains of ice.
The force of a windstorm in February broke an ice boom in Lake Erie, which washed chunks of ice into the breakwall.
The chunks of ice created a wall, which reached about 30 feet, drawing people from all over who wanted to capture the beauty and power of mother nature on camera.
The Niagara Parks Board will have to speak about allocating additional funds to help make repairs.
Adames believes it may cost $150,000 to repair the concrete and also make repairs to the walkway.
He says the repairs are needed to contain water damage on the Parkway, and for safety reasons.
Adames says there is still some ice in areas, and they are asking residents to stay away from the shoreline.
Some barriers remain in place to keep residents safe.
