Stephen Dhillon continues to be the story as the IceDogs head into back to back Eastern Conference games this week. Thursday, it’s the Hamilton Bulldogs and Friday, the North Bay Battalion will provide the competition.
Dhillon stopped 150 shots in three games last week, good enough for a .943 save percentage. The IceDogs picked up 4 of a possible 6 points.
Matt Luff was the first star of the year’s only matchup earlier this season. He comes in with 18 points, with 8 of those being goals. Matthew Strome chips in with 10 goals and 17 points.
Both Christopher Paquette and Oliver Castleman had goal scoring streaks come to an end on Saturday in Owen Sound. Akil Thomas and Justin MacPherson continue to play up in the Soo for Canada Team White at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge. Johnny Corneil leads with 8 goals, while Graham Knott is tops with 16 points.
North Bay sports a 1-1 record versus the IceDogs, losing on opening night 3-1, while hanging on for a one goal victory. Both up those matchups took place in North Bay. Brett McKenzie’s 11 goals and 19 points are setting the pace for Stan Butler’s troops.
