The IceDogs mounted a furious third period comeback in Mississauga, erasing a 5-2 deficit, only to lose 6-5 in overtime.
Trailing 2-0 after one, the Dogs gave up a goal 16 seconds into the second. Down 3-0, Danial Singer would out work the Steelheads defense and bang home his first in the OHL. Christopher Paquette's fifth of the year made it a one goal game, until Mississauga scored late to end the second up 4-2.
David Bell's team would surrender one early in the third to make it a 5-2 hill for the visitors to climb. Paquette's second of the game, Oliver Castleman's second of the year made is 5-4. With 3:09 left, Ben Jones would take a pass from Chris Paquette and bury it five whole to send the game to overtime. The IceDogs were outshot 37-32 over 60 minutes.
In overtime, Colton Incze was outstanding, as the IceDogs came very close to winning the game as Ryan Mantha his a crossbar. The Steelheads capitalized on the bad bounce giveaway for the game winner.
Thursday night, the IceDogs host Saginaw, with the pre-game set to go at 6:30 on 610 CKTB.
