Stephen Dhillon made 43 saves plus 10 more in the shootout as the IceDogs dropped a 3-2 decision to Barrie. With the point, the Dogs move two points up on North Bay for 8th spot in the Eastern Conference of the OHL.
Oliver Castleman got the scoring underway with his 14th of the year just after the half-way mark of the opening period. After blocking a Barrie shot at his own blueline, Castleman converted a long breakaway goal.
The game remained a one goal affair through the second before the Colts tied the game and took the lead in the third. Johnny Corneil's 24th of the year with 2:11 left sent the game into overtime. Ryan Mantha got the lone assist on the tying goal.
In overtime, the IceDogs had multiple chances and outshot the Colts 4-2. In the shootout, only one of 22 shooters were able to beat the two goalies.
Heading into Saturrday's action against North Bay, the Dogs are just a point back of Ottawa for 7th in the conference. 610 CKTB will have all the action beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30.
