The OHL exhibition season now goes "black" for nine days as junior players chase their NHL dreams. Six IceDogs, Johnny Corneil, Kirill Maksimov, Ben Jones, Stephen Dhillon, Matt Philip and Oliver Castleman have been invited to attend NHL camps beginning this week.
Captain Johnny Corneil, has been invited to attend the Vancouver Canucks’ rookie camp in Penticton, B.C..
A pair of June draftees will be attending rookie camps, Ben Jones with the Vegas Golden Knights and Kirill Maksimov will be attending Edmonton’s camp. He will compete against IceDogs teammate Johnny Corneil as the Canucks and Oilers rookies play each other in Penticton.
Matt Philip has been invited to attend the Arizona Coyotes rookie camp. Philip impressed Arizona at a prospects camp this past July in Arizona as a free agent.
After attending Detroit’s prospect event earlier in the summer, Oliver Castleman will be at the Wings Traverse City rookie camp.
Last but not least, Stephen Dhillon is heading to St Louis for Blues rookie camp. Dhillon will be joining Castleman in Traverse City and they might play each other in the playoff rounds at the end of camp.
