The IceDogs completed their first 3-0 September ever with a 5-1 home win over Peterborough. Three unanswered third period goals put the game away for Billy Burke's Dogs who have outscored their opponents 8-0 so far this season in the final period.
Peterborough would get the early lead with a power-play goal, the first surrendered in the 2017-2018 campaign. Akil Thomas' first of two tied the game just after the mid-way mark of period one, with Maksimov and Corneil notching assists.
The only goal of the second put the Dogs ahead to stay as Dan Singer deflected home a pass from Matt Philip on the power-play, John Schaefer collected the second helper.
Kyle Langdon's second at 3:55 of the third extended the lead, assists went to Tomasino and Johnson. Willie Lockhead right point shot at 6:46 extended the lead to 4-1 with Ham and Maksimov picking up assist points. Thomas' second point of the night was a highlight reel individual effort, controlling the puck while circling the net from right to left and back again before setting up Kirill Maksimov's second the season, with Justin MacPherson chipping in an assist as well.
Stephen Dhillon recorded the win, stopping 23 shots.
