The IceDogs faced a mirror image of themselves in Flint, a young, hard working Firebirds team that came out on top winning 4-0. The game was scoreless until almost the mid-way mark of the second, thanks to a penalty shot save from Stephen Dhillon.
The IceDogs appeared to take the lead on a Johnny Corneil goal but it was waved off for being kicked into the net. Flint took the lead at 9:05 on a point shot deflection just as a Dogs penalty was coming to an end. Two more late in the period made it 3-0 Flint.
The game would be dominated by penalty problems with one more in the third closing out the scoring. The IceDogs were outshot 31-25.
Next up, a trip to Saginaw to take on the Spirit. 610 CKTB has all the action beginning with the pre-game at 6:30.
