Expect to pay more at the pumps today, as the new federal carbon tax kicks in.
The tax goes into effect in four provinces including Ontario that have refused to impose their own carbon pricing system.
The tax adds 4.4 cents to a litre of gas and about four cents to a cubic metre of natural gas.
It also will drive up the cost of propane, butane and aviation fuel.
But Ottawa is promising tax rebates to help offset the increases.
Meanwhile, that's not the only thing going up, you will be paying more for booze as well.
The federal government's annual escalator tax kicks on alcohol kicks in as well today
