A decision several years ago may prove costly for the Niagara Regional Police Board.
Board members learning yesterday, the rate of inflation was not factored into estimates for the new police headquarters in Niagara falls along with a new station in St Catharines.
While the new HQ is complete, work has yet to begin on the new station in the Garden City.
The board learning the two projects are now tracking to exceed the 83 million dollars the budget was originally capped at.
