Instant Pot says customers who bought certain batches of one of its multicookers should stop using it immediately after some malfunction reports.
The Ottawa-based company says on its Facebook page that its received a small number of reports that its Gem 65 eight-in-one multicooker overheated and caused some melting damage to the underside.
It asks anyone who owns the appliance with the batch code 1728, 1730, 1731, 1734 or 1746 to stop using it.
Batch codes can be found on a silver label on the bottom of the multicooker.
The company says it anticipates providing more information and next steps on how to receive a replacement within the next few weeks.
Instant Pot says it is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and apologizes for the inconvenience.
