An investigation by the integrity commissioner in Niagara Falls has found Councillor Carolyn Ioanonni breached the city's Code of Ethics.
Acting Integrity Commissioner Brian Duxbury has concluded Ioannoni shared in-camera information from a January 2017 meeting.
As punishment, council last night supported a motion put forward by Councillor Vince Kerrio, that calls for Ioanonni's resignation, an apology, her removal from all city hall boards and commissions as well as a 90 day remuneration of pay.
Ioannoni maintains she her innocence and plans to file a complaint with the Ombudsman's office about how the IC investigation unfolded.
