The city of St Catharines is hiring an integrity commissioner.

John Mascarin of law firm Aird and Berlis, who was hired on an interim basis in May, will stay on for the remainder of council's term in office.
But a staff report recommending Mascarin continue in his role did not include the cost to the city.
Mascarin charged the city $4,600 after investigating the two complaints last spring.
Meantime, a Niagara Falls city councillor is also calling on her council to hire an integrity commissioner to investigate how councillors dealt with a proposed partnership with Ryerson University in a bid to get a downtown post secondary campus.
