Saying none of the firing's were politically motivated the Region's new acting CAO is justifying a decision earlier this week to remove four management level staff at the Niagara Region.
Ron Tripp saying the decisions were his and his alone and he takes full responsiblity for them.
On Monday, General Manager Chris Carter, Human Resources Director Peter Wadsworth, Communications Director Jason Tamming and Economic Development Director Domenic Ursini were relieved of their duties. Jason Lupish who worked in the communications department was also let go.
Tripp says council entrusted him to lead the organization for a period of time and the changes he made best suit the organzation in terms of realligning the reporting structures to help best serve the community and any direction the new council wants to go.
Tripp says because it is an HR issue he cannot comment on severances and exit packages.
