The Globe and Mail reporting some investors in a proposed Niagara Falls development are reconsidering their commitment.
At issue a master planned community called Paradise to be built near Thundering Waters golf course, that includes and area of protected wetlands.
The Globe, quoting a spokeswoman for the developer, GR Investment, saying the delay in getting the project off the ground is causing some to re-evaluate their investment.
The billion dollar plus project was expected to receive zoning approvals by last summer and break ground this spring.
But close to half of the 480 acres are designated provincially significant wetlands.
The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority had proposed moving the wetlands in a controversial and unproven process known as biodiversity offsetting.
But the province refused to back the proposal leaving the wetland issue unresolved.
