"It will never happen again."
That was the Prime Minister's response to today's bombshell ethics report.
Canada's ethics watchdog Mario Dion has found Prime Minister Justin Trudeau violated the Conflict of Interest Act by improperly pressuring then-attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould to stop the criminal prosecution of SNC-Lavalin.
While in Niagara-on-the-Lake making an infrastructure announcement, Trudeau says he accepts the report, and will ensure it will never happen again.
He disputes that any contact with Wilson-Raybould was improper.
Trudeau says his government has formed a group to weigh in on the question of how to move forward following the SNC affair.
Before answering questions on the report, Trudeau announced the federal government will double the federal infrastructure top up transfer saying the provincial government is playing politics on many fronts including the 2021 Summer Games in Niagara.
