Jagmeet Singh takes over from Tom Mulcair after winning a first-ballot victory in yesterday's leadership contest.
He says he plans to fight for issues that New Democrats care about, such as income inequality, climate change and electoral reform.
Singh says he plans to resign his seat in the Ontario legislature immediately, but he seems to be in no hurry to win a seat in the House of Commons.
