A deal has been reached between the Niagara Region and one of the key players in the saga surrounding the hiring of former CAO Carmen D'Angelo.
The Region releasing a statement today saying Niagara and former Communications Director Jason Tamming are pleased to share that the Statement of Claim filed by Tamming related to his firing has been resolved on mutually agreeable terms.
Tamming was suing the region for $500,000 for wrongful dismissal saying he was fired in a manner that inflicted mental distress.
The financial terms of the deal have not been released.
Tamming, who now works for the City of Brampton, was serving as director of communications for former regional chair Alan Caslin when the controversial hiring of D'Angelo took place.
Tamming was fired in last December along with three other managers closely connected to the hiring of D'Angelo.
