Rotating walk outs at Canada Post have resumed.
Workers in the great Halifax area and Vancouver walked off the job this morning.
The Crown corporation says members also walked off the job this morning in Toronto and at its distribution centre in Scarborough.
On Monday, the union representing the workers said two weeks of talks with a special mediator failed to produce any major breakthrough on outstanding issues.
Canadian Union of Postal Workers national president Mike Palecek says the employers unwillingness to address key concerns means the job action will continue.
The Crown corporation insists it has made significant offers that include increased wages, improved benefits and job security.
The main issues in the dispute include health and safety, workload, permanent employment and equality for rural and suburban mail carriers.
Last week, the prime minister warned that Ottawa might soon act to end the three-week-old job action.
