More than 700 drivers have been stopped in RIDE checks in Niagara Falls and Thorold so far this holiday weekend.
Eight drivers were asked to provide breath samples. All fell into the acceptable range.
Another motorist, suspected of driving under the influence of drugs, was give a field sobriety test and passed.
A total of 5 tickets were issued to drivers for various offences, including one driver who was charged with operating their vehicle with a suspended licence for unpaid fines.
