Welland Fire Services celebrating several successful court hearings involving landlords accused of fire code violations.
Fire officials say the owner of property housing residents who require assisted living on Beatrice Street was fined $35,000 for failing to install an automatic sprinkler system in the building.
Welland Fire noting the building is home to some of our most vulnerable persons and Fire Code violations will not be tolerated.
Also found guilty by the courts, the owner of 312 King Street who was fined $1,500 for failing to comply with an inspection order and the landlord of 232 East Main Street who was slapped with a $6,000 fine for failing to comply with an inspection order and one count of failing to maintain a smoke alarm in operating condition.
