LCBO workers staged an information picket in St. Catharines Friday to drum up public support and draw attention to contract concerns ahead of talks set to resume today.
The union representing the workers has concerns about such issues as privatization, job security and the use of casual workers.
Last year, the Liberal government legalized the sale of alcohol in certain grocery stores.
The province plans to allow the sale of alcohol in up to 450 stores across the province, right now the total number of outlets selling alcohol is 206.
The current contract for LCBO employees expired on March 31.
LCBO workers have voted 93 per cent in favour of striking if the negotiations break down.
