The Lincoln County Humane Society has received more than 30 dogs from South Korea
On Friday, the LCHS Mobile Adoption Unit made its way to Pearson International Airport where it received 15 dogs from South Korea.
Yesterday, Monday, they received 20 more.
Saving these dogs was part of a campaign from the Humane Society International, which went to South Korea to save dogs from meat farms and puppy mills.
This was the 14th farm HSI has closed.
In total, 181 dogs were rescued this time.
Executive Director of the Lincoln County Humane Society Kevin Strooband says it's strange that we have a shortage of dogs in Southern Ontario, but it's great that we are able to rehome them from other places.
Strooband says out of the 15 dogs rescued on Friday, there are probably 8 or 9 different breeds.
He says they're working hard to test them and socialize them, and get them adoptable.
Some of the dogs will require some additional care pre or post adoption, due to the conditions they endured.
He says they will start accepting adoption applications on Monday March 4th at 9am.

The LCHS also received dogs late last year from South Korea.
In October, they got 17 dogs.
All of those dogs were adopted by mid November.
An estimated 2.5 million dogs are bred on thousands of farms across South Korea to be killed for human consumption.
