The world has changed and Canada needs to change with it.
That's the word from a Liberal MP who crossed the floor today to join the Conservative party.
Leona Alleslev from the riding of Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill made the announcement telling Canadians not to accept the status quo.
She says we need to have the courage to do what is right, not what is easy.
She even added that the country is at stake.
Alleslev tweeted a message to her constituents saying she is the same person you elected in 2015 and she believes in a strong federal government that leads Canadians.
She says to achieve that she must change parties.
The former Trudeau Liberal says she is looking forward to working with Conservative colleagues who are unafraid to do the real work to tackle priorities of our time.
