Some opposition politicians are offering their support to an Ontario cabinet minister who has decided to step aside temporarily in order to deal with his depression.
Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle says his doctor diagnosed him last year and he wants to take some time to get treatment and properly address the illness.
Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown sent a message on Twitter saying the struggle of those living with depression is very real, and requires tremendous courage, patience and hope.
P-C Lisa MacLeod, who has also spoken publicly about battling depression, said by sharing his struggle, Gravelle will help many other people, while N-D-P Leader Andrea Horwath also wished Gravelle well.
