On this Easter Monday, the Lincoln County Humane Society is speaking out following an anticipated spike in the number of abandoned bunnies.
Executive Director Kevin Strooband joined CKTB's Lee Sterry saying that families still give bunnies as gifts to their children.
He says sadly many end up on their doorstep.
Strooband says children learn that animals are disposable, and obviously that's not the case.
He says they have many bunnies up for adoption, and if you are serious about caring for an animal you can check them out.
Rabbit Rescue in Cambridge says rabbits can also cost more to care for than people realize, especially when it comes to veterinary bills.
