The Niagara Parks Commission will pay tribute to Harriet Tubman.
The NPC will unveil a ceremonial plaque in her honour to celebrate the woman who was a leading abolitionist and conductor of the Underground Railroad.
The plaque will go up at the site of her historic crossing of the Niagara River into Canada, in November of 1856.
The development and installment of the tribute are the result of a request made by students from the Harriet Tubman and Lockview Public Schools in St. Catharines.
The ceremony is set for this Friday at 11 am at the Whirlpool Bridge Plaza.
