A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help a 34 year old Thorold father who is in a coma after jumping in the frigid waters of the Welland Canal to rescue his dog.
Three weeks ago, Michael LeBlanc was out walking his dog with his daughter and wife, when his german shepherd cross, jumped into the water.
LeBlanc jumped in and pushed the dog to safety but couldn't get out of the freezing water.
Thorold fire crews arrived and brought him to safety
LeBlanc was rushed to Hamilton hospital where doctors placed him in an induced coma, he has since been moved to St. Catharines hospital.
So far, the GoFundMe has raised around four thousand dollars.
