A Niagara Falls MPP is urging the province to bring in a stronger more comprehensive strategy to deal with Lyme disease.
Wayne Gates telling the legislature yesterday we need a strategy that combines prevention with treatment and education.
Gates adding we need to equip our doctors with the tools they need to help people suffering from the tick borne disease.
The MPP says he raised the issue in 2014 and back then he talked about people being forced into poverty to pay out of pocket for treatment for Lyme disease.
He notes it's time the province do better to help people suffering from the debiltating disease.
May is Lyme disease awareness month.
